Experience
1996 - Current MetaCorp Strategies International
Pitney Bowes Credit Corporation (Shelton CT) 2/16/1998 - 3/9/1998
¨ Developed an Intranet prototype using HAHT Site software. The goal of the prototype was to create an Intranet containing various examples of reports and administrative functions.

Peter Piper Incorporated (Phoenix AZ) 2/4/1998 - 2/16/1998
¨ Configured an NT Server to be used as a development site for developers working on the PPI Project. The configuration process included: Hardware installations - a 3.2gig hard drive, 64 meg RAM, Software installations - Windows NT Server, Informix, Microsoft Office, IIS, and
Crystal Reports. After PC Configuration 20+ tables had to be created and loaded with data.

The Custom Foot (Westport CT) 8/18/1997 - 2/15-1998
¨ Supported MS SQL Server database architecture that used bi-directional replication to keep 17 sites in 2 countries synchronized.
¨ Converted 5 applications from VB4 to VB5.
¨ Completed the re-write of the Kiosk program reducing the time to complete an order from 5 minutes to under 1 minute.
¨ Supported "The Configurator". This product, which consisted of 3 UI programs and 2 ActiveX components, was used to configure shoe parts for over 200,000 shoes.
¨ Converted 25+ Crystal Reports from 3.0 to 4.0 to 5.0.
¨ Created and supported Financial Reports including state and local tax reports, Debit and Credit reports, daily reconciliation reports, and numerous ad-hoc reports.
¨ Produced developer documentation for existing applications and procedures.

Travelers Insurance (Hartford CT) 3/31/1998 - 8/15/1998
¨ Helped the existing team complete the Customer Information File application (CIF) which consisted of over 30 forms and over 60 other supporting files (.bas, .ocx., .dll). Towards the end of completion this application had to be integrated with the CLMS application which was
being developed in parallel by another development team. CIF and CLMS used Arranger as the interface to Mainframe data.
¨ Converted the CIF from VB3 to VB4 then to VB5.
¨ Consulted with management and team members about conversion schedules, implementation schedules, and code development/architecture/structure/standards. ¨ Produced developer and end user documentation for the CIF application.

The Custom Foot (Westport CT) 7/1/1996 - 2/28/1997
¨ Maintained 4+ major applications which included the custom Order Entry / Product Preview system (Kiosk) and the Maintenance Tool. Maintained includes upgrades, bug fixes and new requirement implementations and coding.
¨ Developed the entire discount portion of the Kiosk. This section consisted of 3 UI screens and 30 + procedures. Discounting could be done at the order level or line level and could be either a percentage or a specific dollar amount.
¨ Developed the Returns and Cancellations portion of the Kiosk. This section was incorporated with the discounts section and used the discounts UI with additional functionality.
¨ Developed an Online Price Book. This was a minor project with only one screen as the UI and under 20 procedures.
¨ Reduced code distribution time from 16 hours to 1 hour by producing batch files that were started remotely using MS SQL task administrator. Code upgrades and batch files are copied from the corporate server to the destination site. Using MS SQL Server Task Manager on the
remote site a task is created that starts the batch file. The batch file distributes the code upgrades to the clients/servers on the remote site. Distribution included backup of current versions, installing upgrades and updating the registry.
¨ Supported a worldwide Network that consisted of 17 sites in 2 countries. Support ranged from answering questions like "How do I put a shortcut on my desktop?" to fixing major MS SQL server replication problems.
1983 - 1996 Pitney Bowes, INC., Stamford, CT
Lead Programmer Analyst, MIS 1995 - 1996
¨ As a member of the Billing Team supported a billing application that consists of an enterprise billing database (over 30 million records), Renewal billing, Maintenance billing, and Adjustment Billing.
¨ As a member of the Cross Application Support and Technology (CAST) team:
¨ Developed and implemented a PC application titled the "Time Zone", a project tracking application. Using Visual Basic as the front end and Access 2.0 as a database this network application is the primary vehicle used to track employee hours against projects for the entire MIS staff. The data will be used to 1- aid in forecasting project cycle times for similar projects 2- obtain a corporate tax deduction for research and development (estimated to be in the millions) and 3- aid management in employee development.
¨ Developed and implemented an IMS Credit Card database used to store credit card information entered through Order Entry or Telemarketing. The information is extracted multiple times daily and sent to a clearinghouse for authorization with subsequent payment requests to
follow.
¨ Developed and implemented multiple DB2 tables:
¨ Meter Revenue Analysis; used to forecast and then to verify price increases impact.
¨ Marketing Analysis; used to compare trade-up/trade-in before/after of equipment.
¨ Marketing Analysis; used to compare and track Lease vs. Rental income.
¨ Sales Lead; table of non-customers with all Dun and Bradstreet information. The information is extracted from the DB2 tables, downloaded to the over 100 districts in the USA, and loaded to a Sales Resource System. Improved sales in one district by 30%.
¨ Standard Industry Code (SIC) and Description
¨ RMRS Resets; used to generate ad-hoc reports by the RMRS management.

Senior Programmer Analyst, MIS 1994 - 1995
¨ Was part of a team that developed a Touch Screen Kiosk. This kiosk is used by employees to obtain job opportunities information. When the application is idle for 5 minutes a Power Point presentation is activated. The Power Point presentation is intended to attract
attention when the PC is idle and includes multiple scanned documents. One document in particular is a picture of the NY Stock Exchange building. Overlaid on the picture is a graph that shows the company stock information. There is also some Multi Media (sound, audio visual)
files included in the application.
¨ Created a CCMail Bulletin Board for the Job Opportunities listing that is put on multiple networks.
¨ Was part of a project team to integrate two major customer databases (over 4 million customer records). Participation included analysis of the database and data then development of 10+ COBOL and EZTREIVE programs that linked the databases and maintained synchronization.

Programmer Analyst, MIS 1993 - 1994
¨ Bartered with a friend to learn the IMS environment that enabled me to develop a "Baseline Development Environment". This fully integrated environment (20 IMS databases) was a smaller mirror of the production environment that enabled developers to identify and reproduce test
situations. This baseline was a prerequisite for the purchase of 120 PCs enabling developers to download small test files and develop mainframe applications at the PC level. Microfocus COBOL, REXX, Rumba and various other PC software packages were used to aid the developer in
the PC development environment.

Operations Analyst, Computer Operations 1991 - 1993
¨ Developed and implemented a report distribution system that reduced operator handling by 75% and programmer intervention by 99%.
¨ One section of this project saved $80,000 a year.

Group Leader, Computer Operations 1989 - 1991
¨ Learned power down/power up procedures that saved minimally $10,000 annually by eliminating the need for computer hardware engineers to be on site.
¨ Developed a tape routing system that cut operator intervention by 50%.
¨ Enabled management to achieve their goals by:
¨ Leading a staff 8-16 people
¨ Supporting a nation wide on-line network. This data center was the primary data center for the company. Any problems from tape drive availability to system availability to report distribution had to be corrected ASAP. We consistently maintained 99.5% availability.
¨ Producing annual output of 60 million pages.

Computer Operations 1984 - 1988
¨ Held various computer operator positions, which enabled me to improve each position and then get promoted. Examples of improvements include rearranging output control floor layout in a logical sequence, converting card files to flat system files and writing COBOL code to
maintain the files, and simplifying scheduling and data entry procedures by setting up templates with default values based on the job being scheduled.
